SAFETY
Always shut off your engine and extinguish all cigarettes before fueling.
Always stay near the nozzle while fueling.

Dangling Nozzles
If you forget to hang up the nozzle and you drive away with the nozzle still in your vehicle, please do the following:
- Return to the dispenser and turn it off.
- Lay the hose and nozzle next to the dispenser.
- Call the local contact number or 1-800-224-8877 and report the incident.
We can easily fix this problem if you would be kind enough to call us. (We promise not to charge you!!)
Keep in mind that driving away with the nozzle still in your vehicle is dangerous and could result in fire or explosion. Please be careful.
Spills
Another safety consideration is spills. Because gasoline is extremely flammable and diesel is combustible, any spill is significant. If a spill occurs while you are fueling, or if you see any spill on site, please call the local contact number or 1-800-224-8877 and request a spill clean up. You do not have to identify yourself.
Static Electricity
There seems to be a new problem we need to be aware of while fueling. Because of the way new tires are made, they seem to be less effective in grounding the vehicle during refueling. Because vehicles may not be grounded sufficiently, a static electricity charge could ignite the gasoline vapors around the nozzle and fill area. To avoid any possibility of this happening, and to minimize any chance of creating a static charge, please do the following:
- Discharge any static build up by touching vehicle metal with your bare hand away from the fueling point before touching the nozzle.
- Don't re-enter your vehicle while refueling.
- Turn off cell phones and any other portable electronic devices.
Static caused fires are very rare. Only a few have ever been reported in the United States. But because it may be possible that something like this could happen, it is important that you follow the above procedures.
Hazardous Information
All fuels are hazardous and should only be stored in approved containers. Please read the following warning statements carefully.
| Gasoline: |
Extremely flammable. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Harmful if inhaled. May cause irritation. May be harmful if absorbed through skin.
Long-term exposure to vapors has caused kidney and liver cancer in mice. Avoid breathing vapors. Avoid prolonged contact with skin.
|
| Diesel: |
Combustible. May cause irritation to eyes.
Diesel has caused skin cancer and kidney damage in rats. Avoid prolonged breathing of mist or vapor. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin.
